yes again, i was screwing around and smartly picked the reset everything and delete all data option in the ipod, now it keep rebooting itself after stucking at the Apple screen.
=/ i think it's nothing serious, but just wondering what is the best option now? restore to 3.1.2(as it was before) or update to 4.1 and jailbreak it again?

If you have anything that's 3rd generation or lower you're gonna want to stay away from 4.0

I recently downgraded causes of constant app crashing...

Though if you're using anything that's 3rd generation or an 2nd generation mc model than you can't downgrade... So you'll have to upgrade...

To restore to 3.1.2 YOU'LL have to use the firmware from here...

find your iPod, download the firmware (don't worry about the gay boot and restore screen you can change those...)

save the 3 zip files extract and instal the new firmware...

To instal, simply stick your iPod in restore mode NOT DFU mode.

The fastest way to go into restore mode is to turn of your iPod hold the home key and then plug it into your computer when the restore screen shows up you can let go of the home button.

After you instal you firmware you'll notice you got a gay boot and restore screen...

Thankfully the iPods that can downgrade iPod 1g and 2g (non mc) can change their boot and restore screen withought having to make a new firmware...

to check if your 2g iPod is a mc model go to settings>general>uhmmm info?

Scroll down to model number... If It starts with an mb you're OK... If it startswith an mc you're screwed.

hmmm actually update doesn't sounds bad. i mean at 3.1.2 plenty of app doesn't work for me anyway, does the crashing happens that often?
and for update I'll just need the newest firmware and newest itunes right? what tool should i use for the jailbreak?

oh really... well ipods seem to have gotten the short end of the stick...

as even non cracked ones mess up...

If you saved you're SHSH files for 3.1.2 you can downgrade...

you were originally on 3.1.2 so if cydia asked you to "make your life easier" and you said ok then you can still downgrade...

but through a different method...

But right now there's neither Cydia or lime rain on the iPod
