If you have a LARGE Library - nothing will beat MediaMonkey3 - also compatible with most WinAmp Plugins.

winamp actually has plugins as well making it even more awsome. nobody bothered making plugins for wmp.

i use wmp just for desktop music as i have a skin that shrinks it epicly

i use winamp in games

thts cause it sucks. There are far too many better players out there.  Media Monkey rules for two reasons:

1> Its great,  compatible, good plugin support, good library and functionality.
2> The name freaking WINS!!! mediaMONKEY!!! what else is needed (apart from the monkey icon!)

^ Not sure about MM, but for Winamp, generally if you don't need any plugins, there's little reason to install them - most are just input or output filters.
You can get Visualization/DSP filters though, if you actually use them...

I'd assume the same for MM.

pretty much.. vaguely put, MM and Winamp are like Flock and Firefox...plugins and add ons are pretty compatible! But most user won't need to bother with anything more than the library and stuff!
