Building a Hackintosh, any suggestions?
Found a good guide on Lifehacker, the guy gave this as his build: http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/wish...er=8773007
Another site I found had pretty much the same thing, but with a quad core 6600 instead. Now, I'm not a Mac person, this is gonna be a toy for me (for now), so I just need something that's gonna give me a good taste of what Macs are capable of. Has anyone found a more bullet-proof version, or should I just go with this? And will I see la huge speed difference going from the core duo E4500 to the quad 6600, or is the duo good enough? Not gonna make movies, or do a lot of video stuff, so the system won't exactly be taxed.
And I'm not very good with computer hardware, so talk like I'm 4.

Seems good. It should run fast. Why not try and ask the guy if he has had any problems for example, sound or if he had to make it run on one processor instead of the full core2duo cause that's what I had to do and myn still does not work with leopard
