Also, do you have iTunes or Safari installed? If not, you have most likely cached yourself some spyware in form of mDNSResponder.exe...

No Flash, no iTunes or Safari...

mDNSResponder.exe also comes with Adobe Photoshop CS3. (And some other versions). If you have photoshop (which I assume you do, due to being a graphics team leader) then that's probably where it came from.

double you tee eff?? How do I go about fixing it then?

I don't exactly know what mDNSResponder.exe does, but I don't think it's what's causing the trouble.

I have that process, and haven't really had problems with it.

RE: FatFirefox
Well there are 2 versions of mDNSResponder.exe first there is a legal version that comes with most apple stuff and does whatever it does. Then there's a spyware variant that sends data to some servers, nothing more. It came hidden in a few  Photoshop CS3 releases, but it isn't harmful.

I'm happy to say Firefox 3 Beta 5 has solved all my problems.

10 Tabs WITH Flash Apps ~ 97MB RAM

No leakage, PLUS the Addon Version Checker OFF - Everything is working fine!!

Firefox 3 is truly a superb upgrade. Amazing work from Mozilla.

RE: FatFirefox
I'm still a little curious of Opera.  If you have a number of flash applications open, which use a fair amount of RAM, there's no way Opera can still consume that little RAM.  The only way would be if Opera cached the inactive tabs to the harddrive.  Uses less memory, but it's slower to switch between tabs.  There may also be some concurrency problems...

@bstronga: how can you stand such small tabs?
