Firefox + Plugins > Opera

Firefox may crunch memory, but Vista's worse.  Firefox + XP > anything + Vista.

Opera can get all the features of firefox...

Vista is harder on memory, wee saw an increase like this with all/most new operating systems.

It runs slow on 1gb of ram, but 2gb or more is perfect for fast pace prefromance.

No where near.  Opera ain't open source, so it'll never attain the status of Firefox.
Plugins like FoxyProxy and Firebug simply don't exist, and probably never will, on Opera.

No as hard as Firefox.  About 100MB of that can be accounted by Vista's crappy Windows Search (which makes the HDD go crazy without you doing anything, meaning your HDD dies sooner).
Vista has never performed faster than XP, even with 4GB RAM.  Absolutely no benchmark or test whatsoever has even demonstrated such a thing.  XP actually did have a speed gain over Windows 98.

Having said that, my nLite'd XP x64 pwns Vista any day.  nLite XP 64 takes about 120MB on installation.  Normal Vista install is 400MB.  Calculate for yourself.

Please use Opera

You decide

Opera
+ Its faster
+ Has some useful add-ons
+ Not many people use it
+ Has the oh so coveted tabbed browsing
+ Open Source
- Most add-ons aren't as effective as their Firefox versions.
- Security isn't as strong
- Unsure on FTP support
- No one makes use of its open source =/

Firefox
+ Has numerous useful add-ons
+ Has the oh so coveted tabbed browsing
+ Decent security
+ Great FTP support
- Chews your CPU usage
- Is VERY slow
- Often crashes at random

Internet Explorer 7
+ Has the oh so coveted tabbed browsing
+ Decent speed
- POOR security
- No useful add-ons whatsoever
- Often crashes at random
- Awful FTP support
- May be slow on some computers
- Kohaku: "Gates must die!"

Internet Explorer 6 or lower
- Everything.

Safari
- What the hell is Safari!?

RE: Firefox won't load
^ Some minor mistakes, like Opera does have tabbing.  Good summary though :)

Opera, since no-one uses it has relatively low support.  Web developers primarily develop for IE and Firefox.  At times Safari and even Konqueror (Linux browser).  Never heard of anyone bothering with Opera though.

Firefox ++ for good scripting support.  Also open source makes it so versatile (cross-platform, and there's also 64 bit builds of it, Portable Firefox etc etc).

IE7 was actually slow (either that or it felt very unresponsive) on all machines I've tested it on.  It's the only other Windows browser which has a 64 bit version.
I'm not sure how much it supports W3C standards and how good scripting is on IE7.  IE6 was a complete mess.

Since popularity with Linux (primarily Ubuntu) is somewhat increasing a little, cross platform and open source seem to become increasingly relevant today.

RE: Firefox won't load
I actually haven't used IE7 for very long so I'm unsure on everything about it. But looking at the flaws I did find, yeah its pretty bad. I'll note its possible slowness though.

I'm only explaining Opera from what others say about it. Also Opera is used much more than Safari, and that's a fact.
