i don't think its a blunt view sensei, and infact i do value my life enough to know that im going to die. I think when i realize this, it holds me (the living) in a sense of pride that im still lucky to be alive today. In turn, i value my life and that's why i feel i should do a great and many things with the life that has been given to me before i die.

But, i do think this quote can be interpreted in diffrent ways from what people think. Does thinking that your going to die make you feel like you want to throw your life away? Again, that's for the person to decide

im gonna miss his movies =/
and the tv shows i don't mind
but i guess it'll suddenly run out of new episodes.
