So, with the release of the PSP "slim" people seem to be calling the old PSP, "fat" or even "phat".
As for the latter term, the only other place I've seen that word is in the names of certain Vietnamese grocery stores.
Now, let's look at the definition of "fat" by looking it up in the trusty
Urban Dictionary:
Quote:1. fat
According to Hollywood, What you are if you are a female weighing over 100 lbs.
Nicole Richie apparently thought she was fat, now she looks like a nine-year old boy.
Well, certainly, the normal PSP is neither a female (or is it?) and doesn't weigh over 100 lbs.

The PSP "fat" doesn't quite look like that...
Quote:2. fat
The condition of weighing more than the medically prescribed average for a specific height and age range.
An adjective describing said condition.
Something chicks fear above all else, causing them to deny themselves the love of a good pizza. It tends to make them eat salads and act finicky in restaurants.
A euphamism for surplus budget spending.
Rhymes with PHAT.
Honey, do I look fat in this?
Trim the fat!
Let's open up a case of PBR and chew the motherfudgein' fat, yo!
Well... what?
Ok, enough of those definitions, let's try "
phat":
Quote:2. phat
1. cool
2. Pretty Hot And Tempting
Dude! That spoon is phat!
Dude! That bitch is P.H.A.T!
Uhh...
I'm staying away from people who call the PSP "phat" from now on...
Okay, for all you who think that Urban Dictionary is not reliable, let's try a more renowned source,
Merriam-Webster:
Quote:1 : notable for having an unusual amount of fat
Last time I checked, PSP doesn't contain any fat...
Quote:2 a : well filled out
Well, I guess...?
Well, that didn't help. What I think "fat" means is someone or something whose weight is above average. But the fact is, since PSP "fats" outnumber the "slims", then the average weight would be that of the "fat". In other words, it wouldn't be "fat" as the average weight would be much closer to the "fats" than it would to the "slims".
So, should they really be called "fat"? Maybe when "slims" start outnumbering them.
But for now, "fat" PSPs are the socially accepted norm, thus I propose that they should not be called "fat" PSPs.
"slims"? Well, I ain't going to bother going through the definition lists... >_>
