Man, I seriously would want to see what this harassment is, because in all my years of playing online, I've never come across it.

I think if there's one thing I agree on about harassment is women, if a woman reveals her identity there's always a bunch of retards that need to emphasize that fact. Then again, I have seen women that support the notion, as per example in a starcraft2 game where I stomped an opposing team with my buddy and they had to make us acknowledge that they were women (if you don't see the point of this, it basically degrades them because winning against a woman is like winning against someone less intelligent). Also, wee've all seen GURL GAMERS LOL XD :P ^_^ <3, so you know what I'm talking about.

I think it's more culture and stereotypes at play here, until people get over that, the "harassment" will probably persist in this area.
