Short show of only 4 episodes, each around 5-6 minutes long.  I found it interesting that it was sponsored by Subaru, yet the show had nothing to do with cars.  Turns out that they probably funded the main character's name (which is Subaru), though it's a little questionable as to why they want to associate themselves with a magical girl.  I mean, if they wanted to associate themselves with a magical girl, this one might've been a better choice.
Anyways, for the actual show, it's short (did I say that before?), so really not much can be fit in there.  Whilst it seems to be reasonable, I think it ultimately tries to fit in too many things in the short duration, and doesn't quite do anything really well.  It would've been better if they only focused on fewer aspects and made more of an impact IMO.

I was thinking the same thing with a girl named Subaru + magical girl. It was short and with an anime with astronomy as a theme, I excepted a whole lot more on that aspect so it left me a little disappointed.
