Don't worry so much about it. I'd say to mention to trustworthy friends that you would like them to keep an eye out for any single friends they might have. I met my current gf through a verrrrry old friendship (haven't talked to him in real life in years ever since he moved away about 10 years ago). He mentioned that she should look me up on facebook and start talking to me since she and I were close by each other. Then, it moved from there. If you have any female friends, hang out with them more, or mention that you are lonely, or something. Most of the sweet girls out there love to hook people up. It is like catnip to them. A lot of guys I've seen are extremely selfish, and so aren't that reliable. However, if you have a close friendship with someone, especially someone already in a relationship, then he might also be a good means of meeting someone.

That is assuming you are wanting a relationship. It is hard being alone all the time, and when my buddies (who aren't that close, as I believe in having 2 or 3 close friends, and the rest just buddies) weren't free to hang with, I occasionally got a bit too lonely.

I would never have been happy just partying and meeting lots of different girls. I prefer having a single strong relationship. I'd recommend the above for you if you are looking for the same. Otherwise, I don't have any insight.
