I never got the hang of using Rainmeter. It just seems so unwieldy and unwilling to co-operate with me.

You need to understand how it works. Once you've got that bit sorted its a very powerful thing. I agree that it could be made a lot easier to use like a dialog for choosing which skins you want open rather than a whole series of silly little context menus, a better system for moving the skins rather than having to pixel-perfect drag them with the mouse and that damn bug that causes it to crash each time I come out of standby or lock the screen!
