Question 3.40 OE-A customization help
Hey all
This forum rocks, I can't believe my eyes when I see all the customization you member have done to your psp's I'm overwhelmed. I would love to do it mines right now. I was wondering though, will implementing stuff like custom icons, and custom font, and font color, custom battery icons, and custom movie intro's not allow my psp to work with my homebrew and iso's and ps1 eboots? I hope this wasn't answered before, and I'm not wasting anyones typing hands to repeat it to me. Some help would be appreciated.

P.S Should I upgrade to the latest m33 firmware, or should I stay until some real updates have been made?

Thanks if advance, you guys are awesome.

Yes your homebrew, isos, ps1 games will work.
Just stay at 3.40, or upgrade, your choice :D

RE: 3.40 OE-A customization help
the only customisation problems you may get that does affect homebrew and ps1 games is any customisation that adds vsh.prx. most customisation can be done without editing this file but if you choose to use one that does then you will have issues with homebrew and ps1 games.

font shouldnt be a problem - just use a font converter that can adjust the size because sometimes the font is too large or too small. the font color change can be done in paf.prx so no issues there.

I see, I was planning on using organ's video tut, but he uses a vsh.prx method. How do I do it your way so I don't mess up my homebrew and eboots etc....

RE: 3.40 OE-A customization help
its basically the same method just a different file. on this forum theres a thread about editing paf.prx - that will give you the offsets you need so then all you do is use the video methods to edit the paf.prx file. the benefit of using this file is that you don't need to do anything to your flash - you just copy it over and overwrite the current one (information should be in the paf editing thread). the main drawback however is that sometimes the font colors can glitch the xmb. again information about this is in the paf thread. if you still want to do it the other way there are ways to fix most of the issues of using vsh.prx however to my knowledge there currently is no way to allow the ps1 games to run with the vsh.prx hack.

Ok I'll try it your way. Do you have the link to the tutorial?

It's very easy to overcome this if you follow bstrontga's tut. Find it here. Aside from that, it lists all the tools you need (with links) to accomplish this. It's so easy. I kept messing it up in the beginning; just make sure you READ. (I HATE reading; that's why I spent HOURS doing this instead of minutes.)

Here's what I came up with:
