opening a full screen app, windowed
So, my school has blocked full screen applications from starting. I'm wondering if there's a way i can get a program/game to open up as windowed. Thanks in advance

the magic of stumble upon is a great and powerful thing.

? .. what .. like games?

in my experience it varies from one app to another

registry editing..

adding "-windowed" , "-w" etc to the target file

depends on what your running :D

I'm more interested in how they can actually block full screen windows...  What sort of message do you get when you try to start a full screen app?  What if you chuck Internet Explorer into full screen (F11)?

It'd be more effective to do some blocking on DirectDraw layers than hooking fullscreen windows.  Which means that the game wouldn't work regardless of being fullscreen or windowed.  (that's why I asked)
