what's the legal status on salt peter(potassium nitrate) in uk
okay, i have told you all about mine and pspkiller's idea to make a cannon with homemade gunpowder. well in that thread pspkiller told me that salt peter is a restricted substance. is this really true? if it is are there any substitutes to it. i really don't want to ask my chemistry teacher because she'll probably know what were up to and wee'd probably need counseling.

i know you can buy it online
but i don't know if it is legal in wales or not,
i don't think it is here in the USA

You can buy Salt Peter in the USA, but I don't know about UK, you can buy it at pool supply stores for winter to keep the water from freezing over and killing the clorine in it. but I am not sure if the UK has any bans on it or any restrictions.

caus it said a large on could cover 16 blocks which is quite alot
