Smile ***Someone with hexing experience, please help!***
Hello ppl,

I have a topmenu which works on 3.40... Idk how, b/c most don't. I have reinstalled, tried many diff topmenus that were allegedly for 3.40 OE, but nothing. What I've done is take a 16x8 8bit .bmp and place it on each icon on the XMB so there will be no picture, just the shadow. Produces sort of a ghost glow theme or something. Anyway, now that I've done that, I can't get my labels to show up, Memory Stick text or anything except the clock, battery and line.

Could someone look at the hexing and possibly figure out why this will work, all except for the text? Anyone who is able to help me with this, please PM me and I'll send the topmenu.

Thank you very much,
ibawanzingee

I had that happen to me. Try opening the bmp files in mspaint (start, all programs, accessories, paint)  and then saving it as an 8-bit bitmap. I know it already is one but that method worked for me.

Thank you for trying, man... however, with this topmenu, I made sure all the icons were 16x8 and they were all 8bit (256) in MS Paint. I think someone could figure this out b/c it's just a matter of aligning the text. Idk though. Maybe I give up...

try restoring your original font and see if that makes a difference - i have a theory that it might.

I actually figured it out after all. I was using a screwed up topmenu. Thought I still don't know how to ADD icons, I can remove them to make this Ghost/Shadow theme:

Thanks for trying to help, ppl! :)
