It sounds a lot like something I had. From what I remember rundll32.exe was launched at startup to run a randomly named .dll file. ZoneAlarm wasn't able to remove it only tell me I had an unspecified malware infection. It was time to improvise.

I used ProceXP to find out the name of this .dll and then proceeded to erase all record of it from my computer. I started up in Safe Mode, deleted a copy in system32 and dllcache, ran CCleaner to clear all my temp directories, manually emptied my prefetch, manually deleted all system restore points and finally used Startups (msconfig was ineffective) to remove the startup entry for rundll32.exe. Restarted in Safe Mode, ran CCleaner again this time checking the registry as well, did a quick check through all the locations I'd deleted from and restarted the computer normally.

Risky but effective.

today i got redirected to some autovirus scan site. it showed me my computer and listed viruses. it then started trying to download like a thousand of the same program at the same time. i figured it was a virus or malware, so i pulled out the ethernet cable and rebooted my computer. now im back on my linux partition, im sick of all the problems im having with windows.
