ok I JUST got a zune 80, and for the past few hours I have been trying to get it to work.

first Zune software wouldnt install since I removed system restore and the installer apparently requires to make a system restore point.

after I got that sorted out, (thanks Syfe and ORGAN)

I ran into another problem. the Zune Software does not read my Zune, or my sisters new Zune.

and I noticed when I plug in the Zune it says on the bottom right "installing drivers"
then it fails the installation.

so I think it has something to do with the driver, I try installing the driver manually but still to no avail, so if ANYONE can help me. please.

also I found a person with the same problem but has not been answered HERE

so please if anyone can help, it is much appreciated.

as far as im aware its 1 zune per pc. your zune will work on your sisters pc once it has been set up with another pc first.
for example for my zune to connect with you pc, i have to connect it to my pc at first, do the software updates and then it will work on any othe pc with the zune software installed.
so if you have connected another zune to your computer bbefore connecting yours, your zune won't be picked up.
i found this out with mine and my sisters. i had to install the software on my dads pc, link up her zune and then my computer would pick it up.

i would say... uninstall zune software, restart, and install again...

disconect the zune and when you install again, open the zune software and THEN connect the zune...

idk maybe this will help...

@ dedat, zune software can pick up as many zunes as possible, but the zune can only have 1 home, but i don't think that's the problem...

this should solve your problem..
and do it the way kaiser said, launch the software first, the connect the zune and let the software do its thing, it will ask you to upgrade the software on the zune itself..and then sync all your music and things.

that's what i was saying. each zune has to have a "home" before other pc's can pick it up. so if diego connected a zune first but the driver installation failed and he connected another zune, then the software will pick up 1 zune at home and one homeless zune lol so it doesn't actually show the homeless one.
this must be sooo confusing lol.

It says it can hold ALOT of Zunes, and wee just got them, none of them installed yet.

sell your 80, buy a 80hdd and put it in your zune 30

wait a sec... now i remember, that happened to me when i installed zune 2 soft with my zune30... it was that when i was installing, i had my zune connected and the drivers messed up... i just uninstalled everything, restarted and reinstalled making sure the zune wasn't connected, since zune 2 soft deletes the old drivers to install the new ones...

OK I finally got it to work.
and just in time for my trip to the beach.

thanks for helping but I knew it was something with the driver.
