Installation:
- If you have already a pandora ms, don't do this part. Otherwise,
format an ms using c+d mspformat or any other tool that allows to move
partition to ~250kb from first sector
Remove ms, usb and connect again usb and ms.
Make PSP and PSP/GAME dirs.
- Copy despertar_cementerio to PSP/GAME/
- Download 1.50, 3.40 and 3.71 update eboots and copy them to ms root with
150.PBP, 340.PBP and 371.PBP names.
- Use the app under a cfw with 2.x or 3.x kernel (be sure that kernel is
selected on recovery to the correct one (2.x or 3.x))
- Once finished, u will have msipl.bin on root. If you already have a pandora
ms, you don't have to do this step (ipl doesn't changes lol), otherwise,
use c+d msinst to install ipl on ms; or use dd command from unix, or any
hex-edit program to write on sector 16 on the physical drive.
- Now you can delete 340 and 150 PBP's, as they won't be used more; but 371.PBP
will be used for unbricker, so don't delete it.
- Now you have an universal pandora ms ready to go, and you just need a proper
battery. If you have 1.50 kernel access, use c+d tool. Otherwise, use corly149 tool.
Battery and ms will work on all psp and slims to this date.
How to use :
Well on the slim wee are blind , due to imposibility for the 1.50 to paint the screen ... instead of that the LEDS gonna be used.
2.Ressurect :The options will be 4 :
--» Press X to install 3.71 M33. Once you press X, you will see the orange led lights, this means update 371 its being installed.PBP. Once over, you will see both leds, orange and green flashing intermitentement. This means the program is runing ,once finshed in the Slim will auto reboot, the fat won't ... Then you will see Blue screen , Press O , and you should be on 3.71 M33.
--» Press O for instal 3.71 original. You will see same indicates of life like the previous step.
--» Press [] for nandDump .Once over the Slim will auto shut down.
Make sure you have 33mb (fat)/66mb (slim) free on your memory stick to avoid corruption. The PSP will shut down automatically when done.
--» Press L+R+HOME+start to restore nand-dump.bin
This process is very dangerous, and you should only use it as a last resort.
It is physical restore process (not a logical one), and will try to make
a 100% clone of the dump.
If you are working with a dump that isn't yours, you will get either a brick
or a corrupt idstorage, depending on the firmware.
If, your PSPs NAND has more damaged blocks than the dump being restored,
you may also end up with a brick.
found out this morning that poisonhzkj updated CXMB (http://www.2alien.info/2007/09/custo...928_updat.html). it wasn't tested due to time but I've tested it and found it WORKING!!! i used elements from martek's files that were converted to work on 3.71 and, of course, bstronga's PoC Foster's theme for 3.71M33 (originally by vegetano). the following files are being used here:
i have inserted my own opening logo that i created for 3.60 into the opening_plugin. that worked. i also tried to use my custom PSP logo that worked for 3.60 but it didn't work here. only showed up as a white box maybe someone can tell me how to fix it (?).
anyway, i also tried using an opening_plugin.prx that worked for 3.60 but that is obviously not going to work (just took a shot in the dark). psp just froze at black screen. perhaps Coldboot Sound Replacer can be updated to work for 3.71.
hey schmilk...any chance you will be working on updating upgraderco? even if most people can't flash the themes yet at least wee have this!!! anyway, my screenshot is attached.
You'll need an original firmware 1.50 file to make it run. This particular file isn't included in the download below so you'll have to go find one for yourself.
* Copy the entire content of the attached file to PSP\GAME folder.
* Rename Original FW 1.50 file to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to PSP\GAME\UPDATE folder.
* In the Game menu launch "Update to X.Y.Z."
* Follow the onscreen instruction and it's done in a while.
Here’s an easy to follow tutorial for flashing a custom theme to your 3.51/3.52 M33 PSP.
Important Note:
Before installing your custom theme, make a back up of flash0.
Inadvertently writing incorrect RCOs or PRXs to flash0 will result in a semi-brick. Never touch the contents of the KD or Module Folder. Inadvertently deleting or modifying files from these folders will result in a full brick. Do not attempt to modify the files in these folders unless you know what you are doing.
Backing up your flash0
Here are the steps for backing up flash0:
The first thing you want to do is to create a folder on your computer, and name it: flash0
Connect your PSP through USB to your computer. Hold up on the power switch to shut your PSP down. While holding the right trigger, turn your PSP back on to enter recovery mode.
Click on Advanced, then click on Toggle USB (flash0).
On your computer, click on: Open folder to view files in Windows Explorer
A new window will open, showing you all of the folders in flash0:
Copy the entire contents of flash0 from your PSP, and Paste it into the flash0 folder you created on your computer.
Remember to COPY and PASTE the files to your computer.
If you decide you only want to install certain parts of the theme,
here’s a list of basic RCOs and PRXs, there function, and there location.
Functions of various RCOs and PRXs
Found at flash0: \vsh\resource:
topmenu_plugin.rco - Main XMB Menu Icons
impose_plugin.rco - Volume Bar
system_plugin_fg.rco - Battery icon
photo_plugin.rco - Photo loading icon & folders
savedata_plugin.rco - Save data loading icon
system_plugin_bg.rco - Background waves
opening_plugin.rco - Word/Bootwave (When you turn your PSP on)
system_plugin.rco - Click sounds when you scroll
sysconf_plugin.rco - System configuration icons/USB slide bar
game_plugin.rco - Game loading icon/corrupt icon
visualizer_plugin.rco - Images used in Visualizer
01-12.bmp - Month theme colors
gameboot.pmf - Short video clip when you start a game or homebrew app
msvideo_main_plugin.rco - Video column icons
htmlviewer.res – Custom click sounds in web browser (To match XMB)
Found at flash0: \vsh\nodule:
vshmain.prx - Icon position/XMB Font color
paf.prx - XMB Icon transitions, Icon spacing, Submenu font & line color, scrolling speed.
update_plugin.prx - Network Update (Can be replaced with custom reboot/shutdown/recovery mode prx)
opening_plugin.prx - Bootsound
Found at flash0: \font:
ltn0.pgf - This is the font that displays in the XMB and Web browser.
Free up flash0 space Before writing a custom theme to flash0, you are going to have to free up some flash space.
Step 1:
Open your font folder in flash0:
Copy and paste ltn0.pgf to your desktop.
Rename it to gb3s1518.bwfon
Drag gb3s1518.bwfon back into the font folder overwriting the original.
Step 2:Dummying or deleting the dic folder.
Delete the folder entirely, or open each file with notepad, delete the contents and put a 0:
Completing these two steps will free up enough flash space to install your custom theme.
If you are having problems or prefer not to complete the above process yourself, here's the dic folder (dummied) and gb3s1518.bwfon (dummied). Just copy and paste gb3s1518.bwfon into the font folder on your psp, and copy and paste the contents of the dic folder into the dic folder on your psp:
Important Note: When replacing RCO and PRX, NEVER delete the files from your PSP's flash0. Always copy and paste the files to there proper folders and confirm overwrite.
Most of the theme packs you download should have the files set up in there proper folders: a vsh folder with subfolders resource and nodule, and the font folder.
Connect your PSP through USB to your computer. Hold up on the power switch to shut your PSP down. While holding the right trigger, turn your PSP back on to enter recovery mode.
Click on Advanced, then click on Toggle USB (flash0):
Click on the vsh folder:
Click on the resource folder:
The majority of the custom theme files are written to the resource folder:
Now you want to open the resource folder that came with your custom theme. Select all of the files, and copy and paste them into the resource folder on your PSP confirming overwrite.
Follow the same procedure for the nodule folder. Open the vsh folder:
Then click on the nodule folder:
Now you want to open the nodule folder that came with your custom theme. Select all of the files, and copy and paste them into the nodule folder on your PSP confirming overwrite.
Follow the same procedure for replacing the font in the font folder.
Open the font folder:
copy the custom ltn0.pgf that came with your custom theme into the font folder on your PSP, confirming overwrite.
Exit recovery after you have replaced all of the files.
When you exit recovery mode and your PSP reboots, it's possible you will see a white screen caused by the custom 01-12.bmp. To fix this, scroll over to your theme settings, open it and pick the first one under original, and exit theme settings. If the screen is still white, hold up on the power switch to shut down your PSP. When you reboot you will see the background.
Quote:PlayStation Portable homebrew developer califrag seems to have something good going on; after skyPSP which can turn your PSP into an actual webcam, comes an app that lets your handheld recognize a laser pointer's movements. The concept is still fresh, but just imagine what eyePSP can do in the near future.
With the help of a Chotto Shot or GoCam, eyePSP can read movements of a projected laser pointer and allow the PSP screen to display what's going on. There's only a demo as of now, but it would be pretty cool to have games controlled by the laser's movements.
You can find eyePSP in action by watching the video below, or try it out yourself by grabbing the demo. Might as well visit the thread where califrag made the release, because discussions of eyePSP's future can be found there.
QJ.net Wrote:Okay, homebrew fans, here's something that could potentially be a big hit with people who want to run more and more homebrew under the latest firmware.
A new custom firmware, 3.71 VE, for the Sony PlayStation Portable is reportedly in the works by the Void Team. The biggest thing about custom firmware 3.71 VE is that it will supposedly include a 1.50 kernel. It will also reportedly include a special recovery feature and support for unofficial themes.
3.71 VE is still a work in progress, and there seems to be no ETA for now. You can check out the images below for a quick look at it, though. Hopefully these guys will find a way to finish this custom firmware. keep checking back here for more updates.
Well someone needs to take the stage, and maybe its DAX again 0_o
