well EP won't tell you im active but im here... i have two monitors and EP is practically always open on my secondary monitor while i do everything else on my main monitor.
I may not post too often but im always in the shoutbox.

Time Spent Online:
1 Month, 3 Weeks, 2 Days, 15 Hours, 33 Minutes, 4 Seconds
compared to when i registered:
Registration Date: 04-02-2008
and the current date: 22-04-2008

i don't stay on while im asleep... i have the index open in a tab but it never refreshes so time isn't added...
The time does get added,
You may disappear from the index page online list but you stay in the who has been online today list,
You appear near the top with the current time next to your name,

the who has been online today list specifically says that there not necessarily online and that they were at one point of the day.
time is only added if your name is on the Online List.
If your still logged in but not browsing EP your name stays near the top of the list with the current time next to it,
It does not move down the list until you close EP or log out,
I know this for a fact because it's one of the first places I check to see who is really here as the index page online list is not very correct,
2-3 hrs.. «-- i guess this is accumulated hrs per day
read all the new threads and replies see whos on the shoutbox.. then close the tab
don't like too many tabs open :D
but i do open EP again from time to time for any updates
