^^to me its a good idea... low latency is bad for games and stuff but for web pages and email and general stuff like that it doesn't matter... youll have some lag if you try to play halo 3 on a 360 or something but you never know... it says it begins broadcast in july so ill read up about it then.. i guarantee they will work out some way to cut the latency down as soon as the technology is developed more.. just imagine what wee will have in 20 years.. always connected super high speed internet with no wires or boxes.. so fast its like browsing your pc
You can't really do much to help the latency of satellite.
The main cause of latency is the beaming of data over great distances.

Perhaps stuff like UAVs may help in the future, but then, it's no longer satellites :P

There is no way wee are going to get even close to cutting down satellite latency to that level (browsing your PC) in 20 years.

The latency is due to the time it takes for the information to be sent to and from the satellite.

Now, the waves aren't going to travel faster just because u want them to. They can't travel faster.
well i didnt mean wee will get that from a sat. connection i was just says that how it will be.. i know why sat has latency but what im saying is that the really smart people that make all of us look like idiots may come up with a way to send an recieve stuff faster.. whether its sat. or whatever it will happen.
Faster maybe, but not by satellite.
According to current scientific theory, nothing can travel faster than the speed of light - and that's how fast the waves travel.

You'd have to think up a completely different model to get around the latency issue... >_>
