i have 3 games that i want to play online: Halo Combat Evolved, GTASA, and Unreal Tournament 2004. but the think is, my PC or my Internet connection won't let me. I've unblocked ports, and added them to Firewall exceptions, but still nothing. When i play Halo, when trying to join a game, it shows hosted games but when i try to connect, it says it can't connect to the server, and that's on a variety of hosted games. in Unreal Tournament, in the multiplayer section, under the "Ping" column it says No for all of them. and in SanAndreas, i use SAMP and when i go to view the servers, there is none, and there should be because my friend was hosting one.
could someone please help?

feel free to ask questions to help me troubleshoot the problem, because i really want this fixed :D
Do you have a software firewall on your computer, what version of windows are you running, do you connect to the internet through a router and if so what model is it?
try disabling the firewall first.

i have Norman (not the "popular" Norton) Security Suite (antivirus, firewall), and I've unblocked the ports from that.
i have Microsoft Windows XP Sp2.
I run the internet through a wireless connection from my Alcatel/Thomson SpeedTouch (something, I'll check it later, I'm not at home).

I'll try this tomorrow, going to do homework, then going to bed :D
You shouldn't have any port problems with a simple speedtouch so it sounds like it's one of the Software Firewalls on your system. Make sure that the windows firewall is dead (goto network connections in the control panel, right click on your wireless connection, select properties and in the advanced tab click the settings button for the firewall and make sure it's set to off. Then try connecting to a UT game again, if the problem is still there kill the Norman Firewall.
agreed^^^

UT2k4 should work without messing with the hardware firewall (unless you're hosting a game), usually problems like this are software firewalls
Ok, just tried with my Firewall down, but still no luck.
the full name of my router/modem is Alcatel/Thomson SpeedTouch 570
ok does anyone have anymore ideas?

by the way i just remembered that i also couldn't play online on my Nintendo DS either.

maybe it could be one of the router's settings?
sorry, triple post, but i think I've made a breakthrough!
it could be because i have a Dynamic IP, not a static!

can anyone confirm this for me?
No that wouldnt make a difference
