desu means = it can mean "it,is, or am" in japanese, ie "watashi no baka desu." means "i am stupid." "inu desu!" means "it is a dog" or "its a dog" but desu is also a really fun word to say because of ways you can use it, some japanese girls use it after a sentece to be cute too.
