When playing games this will happen quite frequently:
I'll be moving around and one movement button will get 'stuck'.
I'll keep moving in that direction or keep jumping until I press the button again. This gets me killed constantly and is slightly peeving.
Not the most computer savvy person but know basics.
Have been googling, no such luck on this particular problem.
Im not sure if i understand what you mean, does the button itself get stuck, or does the computer just... uh "think" its still being pressed?
Try opening up the keyboard and taking a look under (if possible with a laptop keyboard).
Does there happen to be any sticky white substance underneath? If so, that may be your reason.

Well its very fishy down there.
yea probably jizz or some other sticky substance stuck under the conductive rubber pad that connects the contacts on the button when you press the key. When you press it the rubber pad is not popping back up again, meaning the connection is still complete. Whacking the key again unsticks it. Take off the key and clean it.
The key itself is not stuck, as in physically. It acts as though it is.
This happens with any key, and doesn't happen outside of games.
Connected two different external keyboards and the same problem happens.
Will try cleaning it, and no, I don't jizz onto my keyboard.
mine does this occassionally, though only in certain games, and mine is a Desktop keyboard, so im not sure if its an isolated issue
If it's only in games, I'd suspect a DirectInput issue maybe?
If you can install a test copy of Windows, try the game on there.
