Still can't get it to work using just the OFW.

Also I don't really see that many references to 5.03 in the "Source" link. Just the newers fws.
System Settings - Restore Default Settings. Then remove h.bin (or speed.bin) from the root of the memory stick and everything else in the Picture folder. This is used to start CFWEnabler or "GEN-C" (or whatever the 5.03 GEN version is called). It doesn't flash shіt. You need to run ChickHEN R2 or MHUSpeed v3 for that first and run this to start either CFWEnabler or GEN-C.

It's not that big of a deal. You only need to do it once. Then you can start CFWEnabler or GEN-C from a cold boot.
From my experience with v4 on my (Pandorised) PSP 2000, it won't work if you don't already have the files flashed to flash0 (or used the "Uninstall" feature). Though I'm not sure about more recent versions since I'm back on 5.00 M33-6.
