Hey yow, my friend gave me his Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Complete copy...since he got 2 copies already. And also I don't even have a BR player or and writer, reader or whatever....

.......(JUST SKIP THE STORY!!)

So any nice software would rip the movie?? With the same quality and decreased resolution since 1920x1080 or 1080p lags so much (cause I only got here a 1.61ghz single core, 512mb ram and geforce 5500 video card).....1440x900(not exact) should do the trick....

By the way I can run 720p nicely and some HD videos here without lag. Pretty awesome eh . Specky

TIA.
Buy a ps3?
(Disregard this entire post, I didn't read the OP well enough. I thought he was talking about Brazillian DVD's for some strange, unfathomable reason)
Wait, so you're trying to rip the 1080p as 720p so that you can watch on your PC without lag?
Maybe give CoreAVC a try, disabling deblocking, to see how well it plays back.
IDK what good rippers there are though, since I've never ripped BR.

If that's true you can't do fudge all my friend.

Why do you think they are called what they are :/ You'll need a BR Player/Reader drive on your PC in order to rip it.

Alternatively,

1.6GHz shouldn't be able to run 1440x900.

Unless you're using chocolatety XviD.

Exactly.  It's like trying to rip a DVD without a DVD drive.  Good luck with that.

Nahh I can play a movie in that resolution, want proof??....my pc is super duper awesome, I keep it clean always and apply every tweak that I can. I even play Starcraft 2 with it....last time I remember, it was beta and around 10-20fps Hahaha

EDIT: WAHAHAH!!! Zinga just solved my problem, paying for the codec IS TOTALLY WORTH!!! bye bye.. now gonna WATCH FFVIIACC

I'm not saying it's not possible.  It's quite possible for 1.6GHz to decode 1440x900, but "lol I keep it clean + tweaks + starcraft 2" is not proof.

Also, just so you know, tweaking absolutely does not make you decode video any faster/better.  The only kind of tweaking that will let you decode videos faster is hardware tweaking (ie. overclocking).  Video decoding is pretty much 100% CPU dependant (unless you're using DXVA, which I know you aren't, because your GPU is too old to support that).
