what's better about having a 64-bit *NIX?
I've got a 64-bit processor, but only 2GB of RAM, so I've always thought it'd be pointless to go 64-bit.

I can't imagine Debian having more support than Ubuntu (since Ubuntu is the biggest Linux OS), but Debian is pretty popular, too, (Ubuntu uses some Debian stuff, as well).

Ubuntu was built off of Debian and plausibly has the largest community due to the fact of it being so user (noob) friendly. I mainly use it for backups and I like the customizations.
