Well, the easiest way you can do this is get a hoya r72 filter for your camera. or if using a point and shoot just get a roll of film. in the same store don't take any photos with the film and have them make it into negatives. just place one of the negatives over the lens and it will act as an infrared filter.
Or you can go to lifepixel.com and have your camera converted so it only takes infrared shots. The advantage of this is you get a normal shutter speed as opposed to a slower one from using a filter that blocks all rays but infrared from coming in.
Or there are such plug-ins in PS such as Niks color effects pro that have infrared conversions. but none come as close as making the shot originally in infrared.

baah...i told you yesterday there has to be an alien skin plugin...turns out Alien Skin Exposure 2 has an IR filter :X but i can't find it :( Ahh..its only in black and white film filters :( Kinda looses some effects then :(

using that and some layer blending and dropping and i get something like this after 5 minutes of playing ause i have to go to work...not as sweet as the real thing in post 1...but i am giong to play more at work :)
