Where I come from the legal system is maintained 100% by humans, without the supervision from a higher being that for all wee know doesn't exist outside scripture.  
Of course you would be a little hard pressed to get revenge on the rapist as wee're pretty fast with the whole trial, sentece, and punishment deal.

No one hears from you again, not the law, not your family, not your friends.

To me you seem like the person who only cares about following the law so long as it suits your needs. But when things happen that you feel the law doesn't deal with in the right way, you decide to take matters into your own hand.

That is half correct.

If the law handles things in a manor that delivers justice, then yes.  By all means - I will let them handle it.

BUT-  if certain lines are crossed, or I fell that justice has not been served, then the law is the last thing my offenders need be worried about.

That is part of being a man Vlad.  
You do WHATEVER is necessary to protect those you love.
