because the ctf has a magic bit at 0x000000C0 that determines what firmware version the ctf is created for.

The CTF Extractor there is dynamic. Doesn't need updated. Bad code I guess =P

Because, it says 5.00, it's a GUI... common people hate command line tools :/ and, the magic bit that SchmilK said. I have been using Freeplays tool for a long time it work just fine it includes source so I can use it on my Mac without wine granted it does not create CTF's, but isn't that what CXMB full is for
