My quest to obtain a MacBook Pro before the end of the month has hit another snag. I got my full time job making $1500 a month, went to MacMall.com, found a discounted current-model MBP, called a sales person asking about Bill Me Later, I tell her I'm a 17yo college student in need of a laptop, she says it should be fine for me to do the no payments for 90 days as long as my credit history is good, I thank her, hang up, go through the checkout process and get a MacBook Pro with a 3yr Apple care plan for ~$2100 (which is pretty damn good), then go to the Bill Me Later, fill in my info, and hit submit. Then, it returns me to the page saying I had to be 18 years old to do the Bill Me Later. GOD DAMMIT, WOMAN, WHY DIDN'T YOU MENTION THIS SMALL DETAIL BEFORE I SPENT 30 MINUTES FILLING OUT FORMS AND WHATNOT?!?!?!

So I may need my mom's help and excellent credit to get my laptop before July rears it's head, but I'll get the laptop, mark my words.
err... ull be 18 next motnh then ?

why not just put 18 in the age box form thingy? XD

No, I'll be 18 in October. And I can't lie, because they require their social security number, which they check against your personal info.
That sounds like it was annoying...
Is your mom willing to help you out?
and why can't you just pay for it normally?

Either way, good luck fine sir

I don't have $2100 at the moment, but I need the laptop ASAP. My job pays very well, though, so I figured I'd just pay it off with that over the 90 day no-interest period.
!

You would have to pay it in full!?!
Normally they just let you make monthly payments

Wow, ive never seen a place ask for the social security number to order something
But i hope you get your laptop. Good luck
...I would be concerned with giving out my social security number just for a laptop...

are you sure there not giving you a deal because their stealing your identity?

That's what i thought, but it also helps them make sure your you, and that you actually pay it, its alot of money, so maybe they don't want to lose it :?
well usually companies would wait till they have the money in their bank account and then send it, so theft is usually ruled out.
