Dualboot Vista[pre-install] and XP
[End imitation]
Ok. So, I have my cousin's laptop, and I'm busy working on it as if it's my own.. (hehe) It has Vista Home Basic installed on a 40GB hdd. (21.7 gb free), and it has another 30GB? hdd (22.6 gb free) which I just use for MSTS, and the 'Users' folder.
With SP3 coming around and my eyes where they're not supposed to be, I wanted to know if there was an easy guide that I can run through just to get Windows XP and Vista working together without any errors flying.
Note: I don't want to move what's on the 2nd hdd to the OS hdd since it will be a long excruciating 6 gig transfer.
Thanks.
P.S. My cousin has a 500gb external and I already backed up the OS hdd to it. Ironically, I don't have the Vista install CD but the serial. (Which is stupidly on the bottom of the laptop)
P.S.S I'm just going to go default Win Xp with SP3 RTM. No BlackXP or anything like that..

RE: Dualboot Vista[pre-install] and XP
the best way is to install XP in VM.
Though if you want in in real...
http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista..._guide.htm
make sure you follow the guide or you'll lose Vista from MBR. Then if you manage to add that, you'll lose XP... unless you want to complete matters by installing additional loaders!! Trust me! I screwed it the first time!
