Playing Final Fantasy VII on PSP
Does anyone have any advice on the optimal setup for Final Fantasy VII?

I can't seem to even start the game. It stops at a black screen when I try to start a new game.

Currently on 3.90 M33-3 and that's all I'm using so far.

I have the FFVII discs setup as an all-three-in-one EBOOT but I could easily separate the discs anyway.

RE: Playing Final Fantasy VII on PSP
i had a multi disc eboot but i wanted to save space so i
put just one disc at a time on now.

3.90 pops isn't good for FFVII, it screws up completely when you
enter a battle.

use the 3.80 popsloader and get the 3.72 pops files. I use that one
and it is perfect with no glitches at all.
and if you have a custom gameboot or coldboot, it could be the problem it
isn't booting.

If you want to play the game, disable the gameboot/coldboot or use IRshell.

Spoiler for if you don't like pandas:

No I boot up just fine (I see the PSX start up screen)

Its just that after I select NEW GAME from the FFVII screen, all I get is a black screen.

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna try it right now.

RE: Playing Final Fantasy VII on PSP
yea the 3.7x pops have the highest compatibility with games

late ones like 3.80 and 3.90 have had problems with a few games
especially final fantasy 7

RE: Playing Final Fantasy VII on PSP
popsloader keeps freezing on me when trying to load the 3.72 modules.

pops372.prx and popsman372.prx in the seplugins/poploader folder

Both decrypted.

Loading from flash works just fine...

EDIT: nevermind

I needed four files
pops.prx
popsman.prx
pafmini.prx
libpspvmc.prx
