[split] Google says Lights out america / Global Warming
Post duplicated from here

I heard about something similar, or at least similar enough, that is supposed to be happening across the entire world.  They are turning off the lights of all major tourist attractions for like an hour all at once..  9:00 GMT I believe, to raise awareness for global warming, which I still don't believe in.  Anyone else heard about that?

Yeah, the apocalyptic "global warming" people like Al Gore are preaching is simply an overdramatization of a natural cycle of intense warming and cooling our planet goes through. Car exhaust and whatever may have made this warming cycle go a bit warmer, but not enough to end the world as they're preaching.

No, the problem I am having is that they not only don't have enough data (less than a hundred years of even well recorded data), but it has always been collected in uncontrolled environments, with always different instruments, and even their explanations are bogus. I mean, the hottest recorded day was in the 30s.  And wee actually just experienced the coldest winter in I forget how many decades.  They may say it is all climate change due to carbon emissions or whatever, but the problem is they have no proof.  You show me a graph showing the change over 10,000 years with the 0 year being when cars were first made.  Then, wee'll at least have a basis for a debate.  Also, the amount of carbon in the atmosphere is so unbelievably minute, that it also isn't swaying me.
"nitrogen (78.1%), oxygen (20.9%), argon (0.96%), followed by (in uncertain order) carbon and hydrogen because water vapor and carbon dioxide, which represent most of these two elements in the air, are variable components" is the first stat I can find, but it sounds close to what I remember in most Chemistry text books I've read.  I'm sorry, but for every bit of evidence they give in favor of "Extreme Climate Change" or whatever they are calling it nowadays, there is just as much evidence to disprove it.   For every politician (usually) or scientist who says they believe it exists, there are hundreds more who disagree completely.

I remember this:
Object Link

(dunno if the video above will work - you may need the latest version of Flash to play it; otherwise, you can download the video with the Object Link link).

You mean it works from the flash player? O_O

Just read that it had to be QuickTime or something - and I didn't use that... lol.
