Is it possible to translate a PSP game?
Hey,

Is it possible to get access to the subtitle files/stream in psp games... from iso's..?
And translate the subtitle into another language?
Some games have english subs in movies and also when you get told what to do... these are the subs i want to change...

Is this possible ?
Hope anyone can help... :D

I don't think it is possible, but there should be a multiple language selection on the iso. I don't think that you will be able to do it with games and if there was an answer it would be on Google or PSP-Hacks.com or QJ.net

My friend you kinda in luck.

A Japanese PSP Game for the famed anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is getting translated by Hex Editing [I think] the Jap Chars that are shown in script into English.

It was certainly no easy thing for them to do, but if you want to research the subject take a look at the Project here:

http://babazoz.wordpress.com/

And even better, the forums where they talk about some of the process:

Hope this helps :)

It is possible to translate.

But it will be very difficult, would generally involve hacking the game open, extracting the neccessary texts, translating it, and then inserting the translated stuff. And then you would also need to extract and edit and replace the images as well. Depending on the game, you might also need to do a lot of hacking on the game's engine to support the english text.

It's a lot of effort (FAR more effort then, lets say fansubbing an anime), thus most of the time people can't be bothered undertaking such translations.

Yeah, probably would involve a lot of effort. (Depends a lot on the game though)

Most games probably won't just accept your translations without any problems (for example, display issues, word wrapping...), so it would also involve hacking the game engine to support the english.
