RE: this linux distro with RS/MU links
I wasn't sure where I should post, so I just posted in requests.

Also, the reason why I requested links for the xubuntu was because on QJ, I was asking about Linux and how to install on a separate partition for DSL. Then, someone suggested I try Xubuntu, so there was a dl link, and I used that. Turned out to be a spoon server (for me anyways) so I asked here. But I just found one that is closer to me and downloading much faster, so I'm okay now.
Has anyone here tried Xubuntu?

RE: this linux distro with RS/MU links
xubuntu is just ubuntu but with a shit desktop manager. It's meant to use less resources but both KDE & gnome run more responsive for me (with KDE being the fastest and prettiest.)

KDE4 is indeed win, it still has a couple of issues with some apps but it's getting there. It's so FAST as well.

RE: this linux distro with RS/MU links
I'm trying it on a computer with a limited amount of HD space; how much does KDE4 require?

RE: this linux distro with RS/MU links
well on this I have gnome, KDE3.5, KDE4 and all my dev, debugging sysmbols, mulimedia apps, etc on my main partition and it's only 10Gig with 3.5Gig free.

But if your new to linux pick a stable desktop manager, normal full fat ubuntu is the best starting point.

As this thread has nothing to do with rs or any request any more I've moved to computer confab.
