RE: a new era of xmb customizing
Make sure you switch the expert mode on

i.e. in the rcoedit.ini file

Code:
;Enter 'expert' mode by default

ExpertMode = 1

RE: a new era of xmb customizing
hey guys, i don't really have a clue about coding at what not but would it be possible for us to create an extra menu in the xmb?
you would probably have to look alot at the differenec betweenn a 1.5 topmenu and a 2.0+ topmenu, but maybe wee could take advantage of the "7th" menu position?
i don't have a clue about coding and how it all works, its just an idea :D

RE: a new era of xmb customizing
^Editing the RCO would be part of it, but the main part would be fiddling with vshmain.prx

Actually, I can add all the necessary image/text/page resources into RCOs already; won't do anything, as vshmain.prx won't recognize it.

RE: a new era of xmb customizing
hello guys i just want to add up something.earlier while i was playing around with the paf.prx decrypted file i changed the value of the top menu icon set spacing between icons and from value 80 i counted its distance into 400 and it resulted to this a single shot topmenu iconset.it shows 1 topmenu icon at a time.hehehehe.im not sure if anyone have done this before but i just want to share.hehehehe.right now im trying to analyze how to put the single icon at the center part of the screen...heres the preview

by the way the offset is 0x1A66E4 space between main icons.thanks to bstronga for the offset guide....

RE: a new era of xmb customizing
its like the dna theme in otherwords and you can
edit the vsh.prx
offset:     36EE8 > X Position of the XMB. . . .. .  make that "0"
and also
get the rco edito>open the topmenu_plugin.rco> go to page data> then go to xmenu>goto position X:>change it to "0">click set. . . there you go its in the center.

RE: a new era of xmb customizing
you only edited the topmenu didnt you. . that's where the vsh.prx comes in. . . do this:
open decrypted vsh.prx in hex editor>click "goto" and go to offset "36EE8" (without quotes)> then change the 32bit float to "0"(also without floats)> then save and overwrite . . it should work after that

i got it now bro.by the way the offset you gave me was wrong.this is the right offset i used 0x35578 and now my top menu icon is in the center.thanks for the idea bro and you're right the topmenu.rco needs to be edited also.thanks a lot ......

RE: a new era of xmb customizing
oh ok ., . . the one i gave is for CFW 3.5x . . . anyways i had the same problem till i found out it wasn't saving properly . . in recovery before you toggle USB to remove it try using safely remove hardware in the pc that did the trick for me . . or you could upload your vsh.prx and i could edit it for you.
