RE: [HOW-TO] Convert 3.52 bootsound to 3.71
Wow, does that really work?  You seem to be selecting quite a large range in the 3.52 PRX: 0x66436 - 0x42AC = 401,802 bytes.  If I recall correctly, bootsounds shouldn't even be that long...
And you're pasting it in a 49,376 byte region.  Generally, shifting everything after will cause issues. :S

But if does work, good work ! :)

RE: [HOW-TO] Convert 3.52 bootsound to 3.71
Well the old how-to for 3.52 was like that.
I was also wondering about that... but it works lol

I started at the WAVEfmt header all the way till Lib-PSP libwave which after seems to load the wave (SceWaveMainEvf..SceWaveMain)

It doesn`t seem to cause any problems. Maybe someone should try the 49,376 bytes only and see if it still works...

lol. yep. those who are kinda retarded like me should look for "WAVE fmt" in the text section of their 3.5x opening_plugin.prx (the text section is on the far right in most hex editors) and highlight everything up until "thread" (but not including "thread"). then replace the same section of the 3.71 PRX that cow posted in this thread.

works for me everytime!

Okay then - if it works, great!

It's just usually that if you change the length of things, generally offset values are messed up.  Maybe the PSP uses the WAV header to determine offsets, or there's none needed after the WAV file, IDK.

Thanks!

RE: [HOW-TO] Convert 3.52 bootsound to 3.71
Here is the way i do them :

Use S_king app , to make a correct opening_plugin for 3.52 ,padded sound and file size respected.

Open your favourite hex editor, and select for the 3.5x one - 0x000042A4 to 0x00010384 - then copy it.

Next open the 3.71 opening in the Hex editor and  select range - 0x00003D94 to 0x0000FE74 - and insert your previous copied range in to the 3.71 one.

Save - that's it now you have a working coldboot sound for the new firmware.

RE: [HOW-TO] Convert 3.52 bootsound to 3.71
My coldboot is from 3.40 oe-a and I just used the RCO editor to update it to 3.71 m33-2. ATM, the images work fine but the bootsound doesn't, and I can't figure out how to get this file to a 3.52. Any ideas on how to make it work? Or could you possibly do it for me. Heres link to upload.

PS--[/font] sorry to be a bother , but do you happen to have an edited vshmain.prx to allow for full res backgrounds on 3.71 m33-2?
prefferably from the "original" converted theme for 3.71 m33-2.
i tried hexin but have absolutely no prior experience and couldnt find the decimals to change..Any info on this wold be greatly appreciated since ive asked at a buch of other sites but no one wants to help me out.
