In the 3.71 M33 thread, Zinga said that he wished people would write homebrew for the 3.71 kernel, because it was more powerful than 1.5 or something. I don't understand this. I thought that to run homebrew in the first place you had to use the exploits in the 1.5 firmware. Can someone explain this to me? I'm confused

the homebrew .pbp carries a FW code all people have to do is add the
proper header to there .pbp's

So, if wee had the source code for a 1.5 homebrew, wee would just have to change, like, one line of code and it would use the 3.71?

yeah but it has to be done at MAKE

Most of the time simply adding a few command lines to the make file is enough to turn a homebrew into 3.xx homebrew.

However there may be times when certain functions work a different way and you have to edit the source anyway.

Homebrew developers can use the 3.71 kernel because its been hacked just like the 1.50 kernel to allow unsigned programs to run.

If they can get SNES 9xTYL, NesterJ, gpSP, and rRootage to work on a Slim with CFW, I'll buy one.

So is there some universal code that you add to the source to make it a 3.xx, or is it different for every program?

different as per the function but there is an eloader out that lets slim play homebrew not made for 3.71 kernel

well someone found a way but it involves converting the homebrew into a iso n some other procedures i read it on qj
