Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

i just installed a clean version of windows vista on my pc and for some reason now my speakers arent working, i tried plugging in my earphones and those don't work either, anyone know a solution for this?

Hp pavilion dv8000

There are several different revisions of your notebook, my advice is start from the top and work your way down, unless you can find the full product code (might be on the sticker on the underside of the machine.)

i tried installing the Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver and it came up with an error saying 'driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver..

then that is the wrong version of the driver, I believe there are four different revisions of the Conexant package, try another one.

THIS link has 3 different Conexant Driver packages

try installing ffdshow codec pack itsolves some problems

still dosnt work, if everything still dosnt work i guess I'll just take it into bestbuy.

im using a laptop so the speakers are built in

Is every driver you try giving you the MEDIA error?
