The AniReader Guide - Get the Latest Releases First!

Oha-Lucky!!

In this guide I will show how to use the AniReader OPML and FeedReader3 to get informed and linked to the latests releases as soon as they're out!!

I hope you enjoy this guide and I hope it helps you as much as it helped me! ^__^

Lets get-a started!!


(A. Getting Started)


1. Download FeedReader3 from here - http://www.feedreader.com/download (Get the "Stable Release" one)

   Download the AniReader OPML from here - http://www.openoneware.com/AniReader.opml (You may have to 'Right-Click > Save Link As..' because it may be added by Firefox or other Readers)

2. Install FeedReader3

   When you first run FeedReader3 it will give you the option to Import Feeds from their Server, I recommend dedicating FeedReader3 for Anime-Perposes Only! ^___^

3. FeedReader3 will look something like this :



4. Go to 'File > Import OPML'

   Click 'Browse' and Select the 'AniReader.opml' File you got earlier. Things should be looking like so.



   Click 'Next' and in the next window Select All Feeds like shown here..



5. Once you click 'Next' the Feeds will be Imported and will Automatically Update. It should look something like this now.



   All the Feeds will update by themselves!

   You will regularly get a Box appearing at the bottom right of your screen tell you the Latest Releases from the Feeds!

(B. Downloading)

1. To download a release you want from a feed you need to double-click the Attachment Icon like shown here..



2. As long as you Associated the '.torrent' file type to your favorite BitTorrent client, your BitTorrent Client will start downloading the Release!

(C. Setting Up Smartfeeds)

- Smartfeeds are a great way to filter out particular Releases from the Feeds. For Example, filtering out all of your Favorite On-Going Series into this 1 Smartfeed. Lets get started!

1. Go to 'File > New > Smartfeed' like shown here..



2. In the new window, Select Settings for the Filtering from the 1st and 2nd columns (I prefer to leave it alone as I find the defaults fine).

3. In the 3rd Column, put in a value, for example, if you left it on the defaults, if you put in "Lucky Star" it will filter out only the Lucky Star releases, like shown here..



4. Then you can click the Add Button - '+' and add more filters like shown here..



5. When done click 'OK' in the top right.

6. Don't forget to rename the Smartfeed!



(D. Tips)

  - You can Mark all Read like shown here..



  - You can Mark new releases as Read as soon as they are out too..
