Opinions on this potential build pls
I'm gonna use my tax return money to build a computer, and I have just about zero knowledge when it comes to computer hardware, so I was hoping to get some opinions from people who do know stuff.

This is what I've got now: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/lembas/saved/3P71

And the lack of a GPU is because they're expensive and I'm going to save up a bit more before I pick one out.

Thanks friends!

I'm gay.

Unless you're going to use the integrated GPU, it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy an unusable computer?

Do you plan to overclock?  Otherwise the CPU may be overkill.
I'd personally recommend an SSD and slower HDD if you can squeeze that into the budget.
You could probably drop to a cheaper PSU as well.  600W is overkill for most systems.

RE: Opinions on this potential build pls
I read reviews on the case, and the PSU will fit in the case. And I looked for a PSU with less wattage and didn't really find anything on pcpartpicker. Pcpartpicker says that none of the mini itx PSUs are comp atible with thecase I picked out. Doesn't  make any sense, lol.

And my plan is to use the integrated GPU until I get an actual GPU.

I don't plan on jumping on the SSD bandwagon until they're considerably cheaper. As for the HDD, I had a 1TB Caviar Blue, but a few people suggested I upgrade to the Caviar Black.

I had this build with Intel's 3750k, but that one is only like $2 cheaper.

RE: Opinions on this potential build pls
everything looks ok,

id get a matx case though instead of an itx if space/size is not an issue
just so i won't have to deal with very limited space for cable management

downgrade to a 450 - 500w IF you can to save a bit more

Why?
The Blacks are basically just an excuse for people to pay more.  There's practically no difference in performance between the Blues and Blacks.  Black does have a longer warranty, if that's important to you.

On the other hand, the SSD will make a difference.  Keep the 1TB Blue and grab a 60 or 120GB SSD instead of the Black for a noticeable difference.

I was thinking more along the lines of something like a i5 4440, which was why I asked whether you were interested in overclocking.  Haswell doesn't overclock that well, and I don't see any custom CPU cooler in your list.  Dropping the overclock requirement means that you can also switch to a H87/H81/B85 chipset which makes the motherboard cheaper.  (you also get TSX/VT-d as Intel gimps those on the -K CPUs, though they may or may not be useful to you)
CPUs are so ridiculously fast these days that it's really not that worth it to get a high end one unless you really can make use of it.

How about something like:

Intel i5 4440 $181.98
ASRock B85M-ITX $80.38
Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x4GB $59.99
Crucial M500 120GB SSD $79.31

Total: $401.66
Add in your case/PSU/ODD: $521.62

You can even put in the 1TB Black and it's cheaper, whilst performing about the same.

Thiiiis.

So therefore:

This.

SSD's are the way to go man. With that 120gb one, you can chuck on your OS and some important programs you want to load super quick (maybe like a favorite game of something) and then leave a majority of the space free. Everything will remain nice a quick then.

Then just get a cheap as 1TB HDD for the rest of your other stuff and you are good to go my friend.

RE: Opinions on this potential build pls
People still use disc drives? (jk not a pirate lol)

Here's my budget build sorta

All of this includes free shipping

p8 z77 mobo ($120)
radeon hd 7770 (best buy @140 2 years ago)
mushkin enhanced blackline (46 dollars)
i5-3570k TigerDirect ($200)
corsair 460w psu(from old build)
r4 fractal case ($80)
HDD seagate 500gb ($60)
SSD toshiba 60gb(from old build)*not worth it wish I could've gone with 120gb but eh*

Total = $646

Though I don't recommend using my build as a base since I wish I should have got a better SSD/HDD and mobo. But it's pretty freakin' fast like wow I still can't believe how fast this is. Yet I've never OC'd and don't plan to(until I get a better video card for mah VIDEO GAEMS) so I would totally take Zinga's advice and go for the cheaper/sufficient route since the intel chips are already overkill as they are.
