My 2 weeks with the Xbox One [Review]
So I got the Xbox one on launch day. The titles I got were Ryse, Call of Duty Ghosts, Need for Speed Rivals and Assassin's Creed 4. AC4 ended up going back since I beat it on 360 prior and didn't feel like paying just for a graphics boost. So, I ended up writing a quick review. I'll add to this more as I wrote in on a cell phone and have missed a lot (including the criticisms).

My Review:

The Xbox One is the perfect successor to the Xbox 360. Unlike previous generations and another console, the X1 isn't just a jump in graphics performance. The whole system has been designed around the philosophy that powerful machines can do more than just game, and that's what the X1 offers. Rich, beautiful looking games and a new way to interact with your console.

There is nothing more satisfying then walking into your room and saying "Xbox, On" and having your console, TV and receiver turn on, and then walking in front of the console and automatically signing you in. So often now I have walked in after a day of school and said "Xbox, On - Play Music" and have my favourite songs start playing. Even with music or sound coming from the speakers, the console cancels it out and still listens to my commands near flawless, with the rare repeat of the command. If you don't want to use the voice commands the console still functions great.

Plus games start exactly where you left them. No waiting for logos or loading; the exact second where you left the game is the exact same spot you go back to when you then on the console.

Using the Xbox One SmartGlass app on your phone or tablet is a great alternative to a controller as well. It works at a remote control and a second screen for information. You can launch apps without touching a controller. You can even push multimedia content right from your phone to your console.

The Xbox One truly is a multimedia power house that games like it was designed to but does so much more. When games start taking control of the cloud computing Azure abilities, it's possible the system will grow more powerful and that's exciting. And as system updates come out, it's capabilities will only expand.

No good games for either console, IMO. But they are coming.

Indie aren't my thing for the vast majority. But as soon as the Xbox One dev settings are unlocked, there will be a flood of them.

This sounds less like a review and more like an ad.

haven't seen the xbox in action. the ps4 has impressed me when it comes to graphics and i know it can only get better. there are a couple of little issues that need to be ironed out (the other day my console froze and not even the power button would turn it off; i had to unplug it. the controller was flashing white so i thought the console had died) but hey I'm sure they'll get sorted.

All launches have their hiccups. For the X1, it was the learning curve of the new interface. At first I thought the Kinect voice commands were required to use some functionality (ie snap). But luckily, there is a Help option that explains everything. Most of it I figured out on my own within a few hours.

And the first time I turned on the console, it sat at the logo for ages. I thought it was bricked. Then it finally said it was downloading the launch update. After that it booted flawless.

Haven't added the criticisms yet, so it's all gloriously flashy right now.

Interesting review.
No loading screens seems to be an excellent achievement (I assume that's what you meant).

RE: My 2 weeks with the Xbox One [Review]
I'm real happy for you and imma let you finish...but why does it seem like I need an XBone to do the things you said?

Why does it seem like wee need consoles when they're just like any other computational device, just more locked down?

I guess this is probably why I didn't care about the launch.

Congrats on the box though, if its giving you what you feel to be your earnings back, then that's all that matters.
