Dang that's awesome.

I presume that's the power light?  I generally don't connect that pin to the motherboard cause I don't really see the point in a power indicator.
Speaking of which though, is there a HDD indicator?  I can't seem to see one from the images I've seen, and I find those things somewhat useful.
(if the plug is the same, it may be possible to plug the power LED into the HDD LED port though, hmm...)

My old case (Coolermaster Centuron 5, probably around $70 price range?) was terrible and basically all metal sheets everywhere.  I had 2 HDDs that vibrate on different frequences, and that made the whole box humm (sort of like a moble phone vibrate sound) loud to soft to loud on a 2 second period, that was like the worst thing ever.

They give you 1 front fan and 1 back fan.  This fan I think - http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&prod=79.  The top and bottom just come with some foam boards covering them that you can remove to install fans.  The front fan intakes air through the side, look at the picture 1-R posted.

Maximum load is 6x 140mm fans , though I don't really think anyone ever needs that many case fans.

Nope.  But then again Australia has pretty clean air, it takes a long time to get significant dust buildup.

Yes the power light.  I prefer red over blue, but that's personal preference.  I think the black version has a blue light?

No HDD indicator and you can't hear the HDD either because of the sound blocking, so basically you can't tell if the HDD is working or not. :S

Ah I see.

I usually get signs of dust in the machine after a few months.  But yeah, even unchecked for years, there's typically not that much dust for there to be an issue.
I rarely open the box too, but if I'm getting a new case, I suppose it's nice if when I do, it's mostly dust free inside.

Yeah, too many blue LEDs these days >_>

:/
I suppose if the case gives separate + and - heads, I could connect the power LED into the HDD LED ports on the motherboard...

I wish the black one had the option of a red LED. oh well.

I'm replacing the case in my build to the Mini. only becasue i learned that the case i picked turned out to be crap.

RE: [Blog] New Computer (v2)
[Hijacking thread for no real reason]

Turns out the place I have to fit the case into is only 22cm wide, which means that the 23.2cm width of the R4 won't work.
I could probably push it a bit more, but my current case of 21cm is already quite a tight fit.
Another complication is that my CPU cooler is 15.9cm tall, so the case needs to be large enough to house this but small enough to fit within ~21.5cm.

I haven't been terribly impressed by the cases which match those specs and do what I need, so I've decided to hold off.  Many silent cases seem really heavy - perhaps it's to prevent vibrations or something, but, considering that I have to carry out the case whenever I want to open it, a heavy case is inconvenient.  I'm also interested in the lack of carry handles on cases - that'd seem like a convenient feature.
I think cases these days ought to have at least 4 USB ports on the front - it's surprising seeing many with only 2.

Perhaps I'll change over to a micro ATX board on my next upgrade, which will allow me to use smaller, and lighter, cases.  But that'll be a fair while in the future, considering that CPU speed increases have seriously slowed down (Intel's Haswell is pretty much a joke).

RE: [Blog] New Computer (v2)
Well the only issue I had with the mirco atx cases is finding one that would take a standard PSU although you might have more of a selection then I did.

Alot of them were sold out when I built mine.

Interesting, will keep in mind.
Although my PSU doesn't look terribly big (Antec EarthWatts 430W).
