So, Ivy still wipes it... AMD just looks like they have a better GPUs on their APUs vs Intels 4000HD graphics.

The Intel Core i7-3770 still looks like the best value to power ratio.

For gaming and video playback, CPU speed pretty much doesn't matter these days.

And depends on what value scale you're looking at.  A8-3870 is like 2x cheaper than a 3770 or 2.5x cheaper than a 3770K.  I can't find a comparison, but I expect it to only be around 30% slower without HT.

2600K is better value than the 3770K at current prices over here anyway.

Oh I see - agreed, if you need/want high CPU performance (2500K for overclocking).
Gaming, probably not.

do keep in mind that if you get an A8 (socket FM1)

your pretty much stuck with it..

A10's are for socket FM2

idk if you see your self upgrading to it but,,, yeah.. that :p

what's your budget again? maybe wee could get you something better
