Davee, Working on 09g downgrader
[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTN6OyBYdj8YOpj7uHojUV...pp3HxweaYw]

It is a well known limitation that recent PSPs cannot be downgraded below the firmware they shipped with. For example if you bought a PSP that initially had firmware 6.35 on it, you can’t go below that firmware (the real limitations are a bit more complex and motherboard-related but that will do for this article). You can’t for example, go down to firmware 6.20, a firmware that many people enjoy because it is (for now) the last firmware on which some PSPs can install a permanent Custom Firmware (by opposition to a Light Custom Firmware which gets “uninstalled” every time you turn the PSP off, a limitation that some users don’t really like).
So, the rule was that recent downgraders wouldn’t let you go down to firmware 6.20 if your PSP motherboard is of type “9g”… this is going to change soon, as Davee announced . He has a Beta version ready for a downgrader that allows these recent PSP models to downgrade to firmware 6.20. This is still under testing but I am assuming it is just a matter of hours before wee see a release. Thanks Davee!

Yeah I read about this, but he needs beta testers to confirm it's working and release the final version.

RE: Davee, Working on 09g downgrader
The baryon version could probably be spoofed but I wouldn't mess with the idstorage... I remember from the PSP 2k days that each was unique for every Slim. The Phat would even accept a complete flash restore from another Phat, including idstorage, but the same thing on a Slim meant it would no longer run games (including backups), wifi would no longer work - so the browser wouldn't work, etc.

It would basically turn it into an expensive mp3 player, that can happen to run videos and view pictures. Totally not worth it for a few more seconds for the fast recovery to kick in.

"A word of advice though, this is still experimental. The idstorage certificates do NOT belong to a 04g PSP and upgrading and downgrading from ≤ 6.20 to another ≤ 6.20 will NOT WORK. It is possible to resign the idstorage with a compatible 04g donor so this is possible, but the effects are unknown."

Well, as far as I know, idstorage is encrypted/signed. Sign it and it may have a chance. But you still take an (unnecessary) risk without a way to restore a complete flash dump.

If you read the page I linked it says about Gamefreeak100's bricked psp during early testing.

Also as for being dangerous Davee states  "A word of advice though, this is still experimental. The second from last paragraph on the link I gave says...   "It retains the ability to update to ≥ 6.30 and seems very stable!"
So I presume this has been tried and tested.

There is a lot of info in that link,  it's worth reading it all and not just between the lines.
