Laptop Mic is acting up
Hola People,
I Need Help with my Asus Laptop. i had to reformat it a couple of nights ago due to a problem i had, but now my built-in mic is always on. is there a way i can put it back where it'll come on when i need it to?

What do you mean always on?
The VU meter by your mic will always go up and down because as long as the audio device manager is open and that mic is enabled it will always (almost always but lets not get into that) monitor the mic input level. You could just right click and disable the device and the right click it and enable it again when you need to use it but it seems un-necessary. If there is no specific program monitoring your mic or streaming it's input it shouldn't matter whether it's enabled or not. Nobody is going to hear it anyway

Assuming you have Windows 7:

Right click Sound Tray Icon > Recording Devices > Double click the active Mic > Click the "Listen" tab > Untick "Listen to this Device" > Apply.

Done!

i have the audiotek thing and i just disabled the mic its all better now. If i need more help I'll ask again.
