217x272 is pretty big I wouldn't use that big of an icon if you're using all the 8 icons. Also try using 32bit bmp's in case you aren't already, some people try to use png's but I've noticed these take up more resources.

In the ctf I uploaded on this thread, all of the icons are around 217x272 and are fine, I've also been using 24 bit bmp's yet when I try to use images of the same dimensions, they do not appear in the ctf I'm trying to make.

RE: Icon images
try using 8 bit PNG.
"PNG for PTF" will convert the pic into a neat 8 bit PNG. i barely can tell the difference between my original PNG (32 bit) with the converted one (8 bit)

Hmmm, RCOedit can't convert this image to GIM now?

RE: Icon images
Thanks for the help everyone, but now I have 2 more questions.

1) Is it possible to move the xmb icon locations using an RCO editor and if so, how? EDIT : Nevermind, just gonna use a PRX editor.

2) I noticed that only 3 images appear when using icons that are 480x272 for my xmb. Is there any way to get by this and make all 7 appear?
(By compressing the images more perhaps?) EDIT : Nevermind, problem solved.
