lol if you port it to newer firmwares don't you think you will need a new kernel exploit because Sony patched Total_Noobs exploit in firmware 6.37.

And Davee's 6.31/6.35 downgrader used Total_Noobs kernel exploit.

bsanehi, I kinda doubt it's an exploit at all. But if you're right a new HEN may be on its way. Proud

You see, the way I understand it, homebrew apps are signed to look like PSP games and generally all PSP games come with the latest firmware at the time they were released. So maybe this particular "game" came with a higher firmware than 6.38. It then asks for an update and just runs the EBOOT from the UPDATE folder, fooling the PSP that it's being upgraded.


Another possibility would be that it decrypts the update, edits its "version.txt" to look like it's a higher version, encrypts it back (so it runs on ofw) and just runs it. But this isn't anything new. Just wasn't possible to decrypt them, up until the PS3 accident leading to the PSP user keys...
