Alright, so from the subtitle, you can tell that I'm really pissed.

I think I've spent the last 5 hours with different configurations of vlite in shrinking a windows 7 install for a x64 bit system. I've finally come to the conclusion that i will not get the damn thing to install properly without breaking the install. Great. Anyway, I was hoping if there was some way of REMOVING the components and shrinking the install footprint that way.

Gah, can't say much; really frustrated with this thing right now. I need some help in doing this :S.

yeh ive had it installed on a 16gb pendrive

vLite wasn't designed for Windows 7 - most of the options will stuff up the install.
Use one of the newer programs like 7lite or similar.

But a Win7 x64 install will fit well onto a 32GB drive with plenty of space left.

7lite froze on my comp, so i didn't use it.

I also tried to use windows embedded, it was beautiful (and a 3GB install) but the ONLY problem was that my g-sensor and bluetooth did not work. It was a pretty big annoyance to just get me to install windows 7 home premium.

Blah, i only have 10 GB's now free, opposed to the 24 GB's i had with windows embedded.

T_T my life.

I've heard of a few others like Windows 7 Integrator but I've tried none of them so can't recommend anything unfortunately.
10GB might be a bit tough, but you could try doing a stock install and removing components later.

When you tried Windows Embedded, did you remove some networking/wireless/driver components?

Nope, made sure to check them, which is why i was so confused that it wasn't working.

I really like the g-sensor too, since i can flip the tablet around and change the orientation like an ipad, so that was another reason why i went back.

Removing the components after stock installing? I have never heard of this or been able to do it, would like to hear how that's possible.
