[Release]Monster Hunter Portable 3 English Patch by Team HGG
Yay

Finally, just in time with 6.20HEN released, TeamHGG released their English Patch of the best-selling game of Capcom, as of this moment of course.

So, here is the rundown of installation:

1. Download a clean ISO copy, or if you have one, you may proceed to the next step.
2. Choose any of the three methods below on how you'd patch the game.

  a. Plugin Method
  b. Executable Method
  c. Command-line Method, for older computers/programmers/awesome people like
      them.

=========
  A. Plugin Method
      1) Extract MHP3Patch-Plugin-1.0.zip to desktop or anywhere you like.
      2) Copy MHP3RD_DATA to PSP ROOT. Not MP_ROOT.
          (PSP ROOT refers to the directory where you can see folders like PSP,
           SEPLUGINS, MP_ROOT and others.)

           [Image: W3w.jpg?t=1293165548]

      3) Open seplugins folder and copy mhpatch to said folder.

           [Image: W3w.jpg?t=1293165548]

      4) Finally, open game.txt and copy ms0:/seplugins/mhpatch/mhp3patch.prx

       And there, done! Happy hunting!

=========

  B. Executable Method

       - Basically, you just have to extract it somewhere else, but I recommend to add the ISO file on the MHP3 folder on the archive, so that it is easy to run. The executable method is just easy as pie.

Note: you'll be needing .NET Framework 4. If you don't have one installed, or unsure if you have one installed, then download it here.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer)

After patching, copy the new ISO file on your Memory Stick, and...

Happy Hunting!

========

  C. Command-line Method

This is another way of patching, for those who don't want to get hassled by the .NET Download + Install. Though, I think this is complicated since it's command-based, and like what I have said, knowledge is the key here. But still, you may try doing such.

So, here are the files needed.

Executable Method
Plugin Method
Command-Line Method

Enjoy playing, and happy hunting.

Disclaimer: I have NEVER tested these methods for now. Though, I posted it because some tutorials are sorta confusing. This is just a compilation of my knowledge and the instructions I have found on the internet.

And, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Merry Christmas!

It worked for me :)

Also, the command line installer isn't that confusing.  Simply open up the included iso.txt file, put the location of your MHP3 file in it, and run the installer.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some monsters to hunt :D

I used the plugin method, which worked just fine at first.

However, somehow for the first time in 2 years my psp hanged while I was halfway in a quest, and the save file became corrupted(error 80110306), and after 7 hours of googling and trying various methods, I am still unable to find a solution. That was on a PSP 3000 brite.

Similarly, My other friend who uses a PSP 2000 encounter the same problem as well. His PSP just froze and restart, but at least his save was still ok. He immediately uninstalled the plugins.

Both situation happened within the hour after both of us installed the plugin. After removing the plugins our psp run just fine(except for mine being unable to load my mhp3 save), so its likely that those bugs were from the patch itself.

I have more than 50 hours on mine and I'm paying the price now for not backing up my save. So just reminding people who wants to try this patch to at least backup your save before loading the patch.
